While you can manually create contacts individually in your database, we have created a faster way to import your bulk list of contacts. We have provided a .csv spreadsheet import template with our contact fields to fill in & upload. Follow below for the walkthrough of the process.

Import Template

The Contact Import Template for importing contacts into AFrame can be found under the Import page of your account. This template is ideal if you’re adding contacts without linking them to transactions. You can also find this template attached to the bottom of this article.

If you plan to import past transactions along with your contacts, consider using our Contact+Transaction Import Template instead. This option helps prevent duplicate entries by ensuring each transaction is linked to the correct buyer/seller contact. It also allows you to import standalone contacts simultaneously. See the article linked below for this template.

Open in AFrane:Admin > Import > Contacts

Cleanup & Prep Instructions

Different software platforms store similar information in varying formats, so some manual cleanup is usually needed when transferring exported data into another system’s import template. Our template includes columns for each piece of contact data found on the contact detail page, making it easy to copy and paste most of your information into the corresponding columns.

It’s important to review and clean up your data before importing. Adjusting data in a spreadsheet is much easier than updating individual contacts or transactions later—or merging duplicate contacts two at a time.

A few important notes for using our import template:

  • Each contact must have a Company -or- First and Last Name.

  • First Name, Last Name, Phone Numbers, and Emails should each be in separate cells, with only one piece of information per cell.

  • You can assign multiple contact owners by separating names with a comma (,). The names must match team member profiles in your account at the time of import.

  • Applying contact categories helps organize your contacts with these tags and makes it easier to pull filtered lists. You can separate these with a comma (,). If you do not have a matching category in your account, it will create it for you during the import.

  • If you work with multiple agents, use our Managed Agent import template to create multiple agent profiles at once instead of individually.
