Field definition templates enable you to create and modify customized fields within the information sidebar of your transactions. You can create separate collections that will each have their own "page" within the sidebar. Furthermore, you can add distinct groups under each collection to better categorize your fields. 




Field Collections & Groups

Creating field collections is an effective way to categorize the information you want to store in your transaction. You can easily switch between your collections, which keeps all of your information organized in your left sidebar. If you create groups within your collections, it can help you categorize the data into different categories for better organization. Each collection, field group, and individual field will have its own merge field code that can be used in your email templates or custom reports. Additionally, you can colorize fields to help data stand out visually at a glance.



Field Types



Text Field

One Linear text field with a small character limit for text.


Text Area

Paragraph text area with a larger character limit for text.


Choice

You can enter different choice selections. Additionally, you can assign a color to each selection.


Email

The field will ensure that the text entered is a valid email address. For example, you could use this field to save a Skyslope email for the transaction.


Web Link

The field will ensure that the text entered is a valid web link.


Managing Field Collection Template

You can create a new collection or select an existing collection to edit at any time. Once you have selected the collection you want to work on, you can sort or add new groups to better organize your fields. Additionally, you can add new fields or edit existing fields at any time within these groups, thus creating custom fields to your liking.
