Field definition templates enable you to create and modify customized fields within the information sidebar of your transactions. You can create separate collections that will each have their own "page" within the sidebar. Furthermore, you can add distinct groups under each collection to better categorize your fields.

Field Collections & Groups

Field collections and groups provide a way to organize the information stored in your transactions. Collections are the main categories of information, while field groups allow you to organize related fields within each collection. 

You can create multiple collections and easily switch between them to keep your transaction information organized. Each collection, field group, and individual field has its own merge field code that can be used in email templates or custom reports.

Field Types

Text Field

One Linear text field with a small character limit for text.

Text Area

Paragraph text area with a larger character limit for text.

Choice

You can enter different choice selections. Additionally, you can assign a color to each selection.

Number

This field allows numeric values, including decimals.

Currency

This field allows currency values, including decimals.

Email

The field will ensure that the text entered is a valid email address. For example, you could use this field to save a Skyslope email for the transaction.

Web Link

The field will ensure that the text entered is a valid web link.

Managing Template

You can create a new collection or select an existing collection to edit at any time. Once you have selected the collection you want to work on, you can sort or add new groups to better organize your fields. Additionally, you can add new fields or edit existing fields at any time within these groups, thus creating custom fields to your liking.
